Best Time To Visit Laka Glacier Trek

INTRODUCTION:

Laka Glacier trek is a brief weekend trek , and also one of the most well-known one.This is situated in Kangra.The total distance is 13 kilometers. The trek is suitable for beginners to trek. Best Time:

The best time to go on this trek is between March through June. All through the year, you can visit here but

at this time(March through the month of June) the glacier was swollen with snow. Following the monsoon season, the snow starts to melt. In July, there’s not enough snow. In the post monsoon, there isn’t much snow on Laka glacier. This time, there is also morain. In summer, the temperature is around 15-26 degrees Celsius. In the evening, it may drop to between 8 and 10 degrees celsius. In winter, the temperature of an average day is 15 to 18 degrees Celsius. In the evening, it may drop to 1 or 4 degrees Celsius.

 

How to get in touch:

The trek’s starting point is Mcleodganj which is located around 500 kilometers from Delhi. Mcleodganj is located about 250 km away from Chandigarh. From Delhi it is possible to take an overnight AC or non-ac Volvo. Trains can also be taken to Mcleodganj. You can also travel through Pathankot which is an 6.5 to 7 hour journey to Mcleodganj.

 

By Train:

There isn’t a train connection direct between Delhi up to Mcleodganj. Pathankot is the nearest railway station that is about 90 kilometers from here. At Pathankot you can reserve taxis to Mcleodganj.

 

By flight:

Dharamshala-Kangra Airport or Gajjal Airport is the nearest airport located 20 kilometers from Mcleodganj. It takes three hours to get from Delhi to Mcleodganj via plane.

 

Day 1

Mcleodganj To Triund Trek:

The Triund to Laka Glacier:

When you are on the trek, you will come across this stunning Lahesh cave. Camp here for the night and then enjoy the bonfire. Day 3

Trek Back to Mcleodganj
