ACCA Eligibility Requirements | THECMAGUY

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a globally recognized qualification that opens doors to exciting career opportunities in finance, accounting, and auditing. With over 241,000 members and 542,000 students across 180+ countries, ACCA is one of the most sought-after certifications for aspiring finance professionals.

If you are considering pursuing ACCA in India, it’s important to understand the eligibility requirements before enrolling. At SuccessEdge Academy, we offer expert-led ACCA coaching to help students meet the requirements and excel in the ACCA exams.

Who Can Apply for ACCA?

The ACCA eligibility criteria are simple and allow students from various academic backgrounds to apply. ACCA offers multiple entry routes depending on your educational qualifications.

1️ ACCA Eligibility After 12th (Class 12)

Students who have completed Class 12 (PUC or equivalent) can apply for ACCA if they meet the following conditions:

Minimum 65% marks in Mathematics/Accounts and English
Overall 50% marks in other subjects

This is the most common entry route for commerce students who want to pursue ACCA early in their careers.

2️⃣ ACCA Eligibility After Graduation

Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in commerce or related fields (like B.Com, BBA, or BMS) are also eligible for ACCA.

B.Com/M.Com Graduates: Eligible for exemptions in up to 4 papers.
CA/CS/CMA Students: Eligible for multiple exemptions based on their qualifications.

📌 If you’re a graduate, you can fast-track your ACCA journey by skipping foundation-level papers!

3️⃣ ACCA Entry Route Without 12th or Graduation

If you don’t meet the 12th standard eligibility criteria, you can still enroll in ACCA through the Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) route.

FIA is a diploma-level course that acts as a stepping stone to the ACCA qualification.
Once you complete FIA, you can proceed to the ACCA Skill & Professional Levels.

No commerce background? No problem! The FIA route allows anyone to pursue ACCA, even without formal qualifications.

ACCA Exam Structure – Understanding the Levels

The ACCA qualification is divided into three levels, each designed to build expertise in financial accounting, taxation, and business strategy.

1️ Applied Knowledge Level – Covers the basics of accounting and finance.
2️ Applied Skills Level – Focuses on financial reporting, taxation, and audit.
3️ Strategic Professional Level – Develops leadership and strategic decision-making skills.
